The Information Technology (IT) Department’s mission is to deliver innovative, secure, and user-focused technology and data solutions that enhance City service delivery, support informed decision-making, and enable connected, adaptable, and high-performing operations in partnership with all departments. Established as a standalone department in Fiscal Year 2025–26, IT plays a central role in modernizing infrastructure, advancing data-driven decision-making, and supporting strategic priorities through the City’s five-year Information Technology Strategic Plan. With a strong focus on cybersecurity, system integration, and operational resilience, the department equips staff with reliable tools and insights to deliver efficient, secure, and high-quality public services to the community.
Information Technology Department services and responsibilities include;
Cybersecurity protection for City systems and resident data
Reliable access to City websites, online forms, and digital services
Public access to City performance dashboards and budget data
Maintenance of telecommunications systems for public communication
Implementation of modern technologies to improve resident experience
Interactive GIS maps and location-based tools for residents
Support for online payment systems and service request platforms
Training and outreach on digital safety and technology use
